In our vet clinic we practice an Integrative Veterinary approach to the management of osteoarthrtitis in dogs. This approach is based on a protocol Dr Joan has used successfully for 30 years.
Management of arthritis starts with treatment to modify the disease process - not just treating the symptoms of pain and inflammation.
PROTOCOL:
- To modify the development of arthritis we use "Cartrophen" injections. This is a plant-based medication that:
- thickens up joint fluid
- helps cartilage repair
- improves the health of joint tissues
2. Therapeutic Laser Therapy - Therapeutic Laser Therapy (TLT) is a scientifically and clinically proven therapeutic modality which uses light of different wavelengths to provide significant benefits to dogs with arthritis. TLT is very safe, easy to use. Dr Joan has considerable experience in TLT protocols for a large variety of conditions.
3. Pain relief with anti-inflammatory medication if required.
4. Herbal powder blends as a feed supplement. Our “Dog Joints” feed supplement is composed of herbs that have medicinal properties that provide :
- pain relief
- antioxidant action to protect tissues from harm
- antiinflammatory action
- assist in joint health
5. Herbal liquid tonics are available for older dogs to complement the herbal therapy and assist in longterm control of arthritis. More information here.
Following this protocol is important and this written information is supplied FREE with "Dog Joints".
